Staff Scores

Planning and Direction: 4

Not much to talk about here, as there didn’t seem to be a lot of planning involved. Other than the medical check-up segment, everything else was rather dull.

Postproduction: 5

Typical solid KBS production.

Saeshin (Children’s song)

Cast Scores

Cha Tae Hyun: 4

While he was mostly OK, Tae Hyun seemed a bit more withdrawn than usual, and preferred to let the others do most of the talking.

Kim Jong Min: 4

Jong Min tried at times, but came off as a bit awkward in most cases.

Kim Joo Hyuk: 4

Joo Hyuk didn’t seem to be terribly interested in this shoot, as if he was just going along with it until he got to go home.

Kim Jun Ho: 5

While he didn’t do a great deal, Jun Ho at least tried to show some funny reactions during the bokbulbok games

Defconn: 5

Defconn was also a bit subdued, but contributed a lot of the dialogue and direction for the cast this week, and showed some good reactions as well.

Jung Joon Young: 5

Joon Young also seemed to be a bit tired this shoot, but at least attempted a few jokes here and there.

Kim Saeng Min, Park Shin Hye

The guests weren’t great this week, and took up a lot of airtime as well. Saeng Min was fine, but he got stuck in a hidden camera segment that didn’t really work out all that well. Shin Hye’s appearance was a bit awkward and pointless, and went on for way too long.

Episode MVP: Defconn

Not a lot to choose from this week, as the entire cast was less than energetic for most of the episode. Defconn likely did the most in terms of narrating and keeping the flow going, however.

Final Score: 4

Started out OK with the physical check-up segment, but slowly went downhill from there as the games went on forever, the attempted pranking of the guest failed, and the ‘morning angel’ bit was pointless and took forever to conclude. The score could almost be lower, but the episode never really fell into outright ‘bad’ territory either. Possibly the worst episode of season 3 thus far, however.
