The members compete in an episode of Family Orakgwan, visit KBS FM’s Pump Up the Volume, and play the sleeping and morning bokbulboks.
Planning and Direction: 7
While most of the games were fairly simple, the Family Orakgwan segment was both a stroke of genius and very well done. The delivery game was also well conceived, as it combined the 1N2D cast, crew, and the public to good effect, and the idea of sleeping in the variety director’s office was a nice touch. The only somewhat weak link was the morning hat finding game, which was never going to amount to much in the way of entertainment.
Usual high quality production from the KBS team, although the music choices were a bit more generic than usual.
Beyonce “Crazy in Love”
Boney M “Sunny”
Psy “Gangnam Style”
Zitten “Feel All Right”
Low End Project “I Knew I Ruined the Relationship”
Black Eyed Peas “Pump It”
Justin Timberlake “Sexyback”
Cha Tae Hyun: 6
Tae Hyun was in good spirits for most of this episodes, providing his usual quality reactions, and leading the team during the radio segment.
Kim Jong Min: 5
Solid effort from Jong Min, who was energetic for most of the episode but never had that standout individual moment of quality.
Kim Joo Hyuk: 5
Pretty good showing from Joo Hyuk, who was decent for the most part, particularly as the frustrated loser of the delivery segment. He seemed too tired to come up with much during the morning shoot, though, and largely checked out.
Kim Jun Ho: 6
Good work from Jun Ho again, who did well in playing more of a sneaky character this week than usual, always looking for shortcuts to annoy the other members (and create good footage in the process).
Defconn had a good, solid showing, particularly during the delivery and radio segments, where he busted out a pretty impressive version of an old Korean song with custom lyrics about Yoo In Na.
Jung Joon Young: 6
Joon Young was probably the best member in the first half of the episode, as he provided many of the laughs during the gameshow and delivery segments. He completely checked out in the morning shoot, though, doing next to nothing.
Heo Cham, Lee Seul Gi, Yoo In Na, Yoon Soo Young
While the others all did their parts adequately, Heo Cham really stole the show as host of the game show segment. He hasn’t lost a step, and led the segment at a breakneck pace that provided for consistently funny bits. He needs to be on TV full time again.
Episode MVP: Kim Jun Ho
This week was very close, as most of the members contributed well across all segments. Jun Ho worked the hardest in giving others the opportunity to be funny, however, as he provided many chances for the other members to attack him with his sneaky antics. He was also one of the few members that was energetic in the morning segment.
Final Score: 6
The opening segment was excellent, and the rest of the first day’s shoot was also solid. The morning was a bit weak, however, and the entire episode lacked a real breakthrough moment of hilarity that would have made the episode stand out more.
