1 Night 2 Days S3 ep 4 – What Men Live By part 2
The members finish the camping gear challenge and race to arrive home before sundown, then play the dinner bokbulbok.
Planning and Direction: 5
The games on the main mission were mostly good, and the race against the sun worked out really well. The dinner games, however, were pretty bland and seemed to go on a bit too long, giving the sense that they may have been stretching a bit in order to get three full episodes (or more) out of this trip.
Good sound and music, and decent enough graphics and captions.
Cha Tae Hyun : 6
Maintained a good energy level up until the very end of the day’s shoot, which is understandable considering how draining the day must have been. Tae Hyun’s reactions were a consistent benefit to the episode, whether he was laughing along with the comedy bits or adding some drama to the race home.
Kim Jong Min: 5
Jong Min had a fairly solid performance, but was still lacking the ‘oomph’ needed to really drive a segment forward. He wasn’t bad, but seemed to sort of pop in and out a lot as opposed to being consistent.
Kim Joo Hyuk: 5
Had enough moments to get a passing score, but Joo Hyuk definitely seemed to become more withdrawn the as the day went on.
Kim Jun Ho: 6
Worked hard through the whole episode. Even though he didn’t have any real stand-out moments, he was probably the best member during the overlong dinner bokbulbok.
Defconn : 6
Was good once again in the early portion of the show, but faded significantly towards the end and was content to let the others do the talking.
Jung Joon Young: 5
Didn’t really do much the entire episode, but was talkative enough in the travel segments to get a pass. Also seemed to zone out near the end.
International Referee Kwon Ki Jong.
Was pretty funny again, although the statue game was interminable in length.
Episode MVP: Cha Tae-Hyun
Final Score: 5
A good first half and a weak second half this week, with nobody really standing out for better or worse. As for the second half, it seemed that the members may have simply been too worn out from the travel by the time they returned to base camp, and the PD admitted to sort of making up the games on the spot at times. Not a terrible episode, but not really good either.
